Synopsis Over the past two years, a transformation has been occurring across the economic landscape as business come to terms with the reality that externalities such as greenhouse gases (CO2 emissions) must be factored into business decisions, and be strategically managed. With the release of Australia?s Emissions Trading Scheme legislation, the business community must respond, including finding the right way to future proof their organisations against this new reality.
Welcome to the era of the low carbon economy, where business success will depend on the adaptive capacity of business leaders. An era in which the true mettle of organisations, and their management teams, will be tested and where a range of new market opportunities will be created.
What are the economic, market and business risks that we must contend with under this new paradigm? Just what is the low carbon economy? How should business respond in the shadow of the Global Financial Crisis? What are the new market opportunities that are emerging and how can they be seized?
Our guest speaker, Rob Nicholls, will discuss how individuals can prepare themselves to become a part of the next generation of carbon conscious, carbon skilled & carbon responsive workers. This will be run as an interactive session covering topics such as: - marketplace dynamics;
- related risks & opportunities; and
- entrepreneurship.
You will also have the opportunity to interact with practitioners in this emerging sector, and form new relationships with like-minded individuals and interest groups. Event FormatTo maximise opportunities to not only pick up valuable information but also to make connections with others who share an interest in this topic, the format of the evening will be: - A presentation by Rob Nicholls;
