In the dynamic business world around us, managing new business opportunities and threats is not easy. This MGSM Networker event will focus on what effects global climate change, the emerging carbon economy and the restructuring of markets in the Asian region will have on new business opportunities and threats.

Networking Theme

We will be networking on the theme of ?Managing new business opportunities and threats arising from global climate change, the emerging carbon economy and the restructuring of markets in the Asian region?.

There will also be a panel of invited experts to discuss these themes and implications, and comment on business proposals submitted or raised on the night. We would like to see a number of new businesses get started or expand as a result of this meeting.

Business Proposals and Ideas

So if you have a business idea or proposal relating to this theme you are invited to send a single powerpoint slide covering:

• A MAXIMUM 100 word description of your proposal;
• A photo of you or your team;
• A list of any skills or resources you are seeking to help your success;
• Your contact details and links to more information (optional).

These slides will be placed on our web site prior to the event and also flashed up on screen during the event. There will be a prize awarded for the best idea, however to be considered your powerpoint slide must be submitted to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Networking Format

At this event you should bring at least 100 business cards, and be prepared to meet new people and exchange cards with them. There will be a structured program of speed dating to ensure you do meet new people and get to discuss business opportunities. Each person admitted will get a name badge with a coloured sticker indicating what they can bring to the table:

• RED for people who want to set up a business or expand to take advantage of the changes in this area
• YELLOW for people already managing or in charge of a business affected by these trends
• GREEN for anyone who feels they can contribute advice or funds to help businesses starting up or expanding into opportunities in this area
• BLUE for anyone already running a business who can provide services or funds to anyone facing these issues and opportunities.
